Larry Russell resigns, Paul Von Berg named Interim Executive Vice President for SCCA

Larry C. Russell has resigned from the position of Executive Vice President of the Southern California Contractors Association to pursue new career opportunities, according to an announcement from SCCA President Pete Rasic to the Board of Directors.

Describing the parting as "amicable," Rasic also announced that the association's Executive Committee, meeting June 28, accepted the resignation and appointed Paul Von Berg as interim EVP.

Von Berg is a past president of SCCA and a 45-year-veteran of the construction industry who retired from Brutoco Construction and Engineering last October. He was recently appointed to the California Apprenticeship Council and serves as a management trustee for the local Laborers and Operating Engineers unions and on the boards of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and Transportation California.

"We want to thank Larry for his accomplishments during his service to the association," Rasic said. "We also want to thank Paul for accepting this responsibility on a temporary basis."

Rasic called a special meeting of the SCCA Board for July 10 to establish a search committee to fill the EVP position.
