Speaking to Rudy for the first time was a pleasure. We spoke for a short few minutes, discovering how each of us could benefit from one another's organization. We are a family owned business from Sacramento, three generations strong, serving the central valley for over 60 years and having established a reputation for superior customer satisfaction and service.
The company, founded by Bill Ramos in 1951, began delivering bulk and pre-packaged petroleum products to farms, service stations, construction sites, government entities, mines and other businesses via its extensive truck fleet. But Ramos Oil later began offering customers "Cardlock" fueling at 40,000 + nationwide Commercial Fueling Network (CFN) sites.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Ron Nuss of Northwest Excavating, Inc., for several years, being involved with the Southern California Contractors Association (SCCA). We lost touch for a couple of years, until we ran into each other in April of 2012, at a Heavy Duty Diesel Emissions Control Course, in Los Angeles. After catching up with what we have been up to, Ron was more than eager to join the CCTA to participate and share his knowledge of the CARB truck rules with our members. I asked Ron to write a short article on some key points on how to be CARB compliant.

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Clive Melville, Finance & Business Development Manager of Crossroads and Matt Schrap, V.P. of Government Programs also with Crossroads, at our CCTA winter board meeting, in Ontario, February the 9th. After listening to their commitment to the small business owners and their business philosophies, we felt they were a natural fit for the CCTA.

Recently, I received a call from an affiliate member Mike Garcia of Fleet Services Inc. He explained the nature of his call was to reach out to our members and to get more involved with the CCTA. I was very pleased with his eagerness to participate with the association’s activities. We agreed on a time and date to meet at our Upland office.
After the tour, Mike was so impressed that he wrote a nice article for the magazine that I though all members and affiliates would find interesting and informative.
