Heads-up truckers coming into California during the month of August
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has announced that August has been designated "Gear Up for Clean Truck Month." In a notice sent out to members of CARB's Truck Regulations Advisory Committee (TRAC), the agency announced a statewide enforcement campaign for the entire month of August. The notice stated the following:
"The Air Resources Board has designated August as “Gear Up for Clean Truck Month.” This will send a clear message that the comprehensive suite of ARB’s diesel regulations is in effect and being enforced. We recognize the importance of establishing a level playing field among operators, and to do this it is critical that our outreach and compliance assistance efforts go hand-in-hand with a strong and visible enforcement effort.
There are currently numerous CARB regulations in effect with wide-ranging penalties for violations. If you are unsure whether your equipment is compliant go to the CARB website (http://www.arb.ca.gov/homepage.htm) and click on "Diesel Activities."
